Risk Reduction Plans
In 2022-2023, Bushfire Management Committees developed the first risk reduction plans, identifying proposed priority bushfire mitigation actions for the year, agreed to by BMC member agencies.
The introduction of risk reduction plans represented a significant collaboration among BMC member agencies and organisations, and an important step forward in improving the coordination of bushfire risk reduction activities across South Australia.
In February 2024, the State Bushfire Coordination Committee (SBCC) approved a shift in its approach to risk reduction planning, adopting a static four-year time horizon for risk reduction plans.
These will serve as an interim measure to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of risk reporting while the development of BMAP 2.0 is underway.
