About the Committee
What area does the BMC cover?
NOTE: The boundaries of the Outback Bushfire Management Area were amended and the Outback BMC concluded on 30 June 2024. The Flinders and Outback (FO) BMC and the Mid-North and Yorke (MNY) BMC websites can be found through the Bushfire Management Committee landing page on the SBCC website.
When in operation, the Outback Bushfire Management Area included:
- District Council of Coober Pedy
- Municipal Council of Roxby Downs
- Any other area of the State that-
- (i) is not otherwise within a bushfire management area; and
- (ii) is not within a fire district
This included:
- The Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands
- The Maralinga Tjarutja Lands
- The Pastoral Unincorporated Areas
SACFS Region 4 provided executive support to the Outback BMC.
